Rays Safaris

Why work with us

Licensed, accredited, and answerable to you.

RAYS Safaris is a licensed, established operator based in Uganda. We hold License UTB/RTT/TO/2023/100658, issued by the Uganda Tourism Board.

You're also booking with a company that other operators trust. We're members of ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association), AUTO (Association of Uganda Tour Operators), and ESTOA (Exclusive Sustainable Tour Operators Association). Membership in these groups means we meet set standards for service and conduct, not just claims we make about ourselves.

Will this trip fit what you actually want?

Yes. We don't sell fixed packages. We build your itinerary around your budget, your interests, and your pace.

Each destination on our list has a specialist behind it. These are people who have lived there or travelled it many times over. When you ask about gorilla trekking in Bwindi or a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, you get answers from someone who has done it, not someone reading a brochure.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road?

You call us, and someone answers. Every guide and staff member who works with clients carries a phone. If you need help outside office hours, our emergency line runs around the clock.

This matters most in remote areas, where a flat tyre or a missed connection needs a fast decision, not a queue.

What do you travel in?

You travel in our own vehicles, not rented ones. Our fleet includes Safari Omni vans and extended 7-seater Land Cruisers, all fitted with pop-up roofs for photography. We maintain every vehicle ourselves, so you're not relying on a third party's upkeep standards.

Does this trip cost the environment or the local community?

We try to keep that cost low. Every guest gets a reusable water bottle to cut down on plastic. We work only with lodges that meet eco-friendly standards, and we brief clients on local customs before they arrive at a community site.

We also back community projects directly. One example: Primate Girls Academy, a project supporting girls through football clubs where we play with different communities and after matches, we usually plant trees which helps to conserve the environment in the communities we visit.

You’ll get a custom itinerary and quote back, not a template someone else already used. Handled by a local team before you land in Entebbe.
